The World Youth Wingfoil Championships (GWA) took place in the Canary Islands in Santa Cruz de la Palma from June 29 to July 2. Despite pushing her progression at her home in Guadeloupe, this was Enoha’s first participation in an international competition. Here’s how her
“The first day we did 4 races, the wind was blowing between 20 and 23 knots but patchy and the water was rough. I used my Air V3 4.5m It was powerful and sometimes I was way over powered. I finished 3rd girl in most heats. As we were only 5 girls in the whole competition, there was only one U19 category. We were racing with the U16 Boys category.
The 2nd day was freestyle, we started the competition in the afternoon, the wind was between 22 and 26 knots I used my Air V3 3.5m. We did 4 hits. I went to the mini final and I won. So I finished 3rd in girls in U19. I was super happy because the competitors had a very good level.
On the 3rd day there was no competition for the girls because we had finished the freestyle. I was able to follow the boys’ competition, it was really very interesting and instructive.
On Sunday I had 4 races. The course was very nice, with upwind and pumping. On several of the races I finished 2nd..
In the end I took 3rd in Freefly-Slalom and Freestyle !
It was a super nice experience, I really want to continue competitions in wingfoil to improve myself in freestyle as in racing and make other podiums!”
Best regards
