In this action-packed clip, Maui waterman Zane Schweitzer tows himself into some incredibly massive waves with the Starboard FreeWing Air on his foil surfboard.

Zane Schweitzer is a true waterman of Hawaii. He pushes the limits on all of his chosen craft. It was in early December 2020, however, that he did what we believe was a world first – big wave tow foiling with the wing/ windsurfing.

“In my 12 years of riding Pe’ahi, a.k.a “Jaws”, this was for sure the biggest waves I’ve ever seen let alone rode! The winter big-wave season started off with a bang sending in lots of swell leading up to the XXL day on the 16th.

It was great to be able to warm up into it and get familiar with some new gear on various crafts from windsurfing, tow-in surf to paddle in boards and equipment. I had over a dozen sessions out at Pe’ahi this season before 2021 even hit and have had one of the most amazing winters yet to focus on big wave riding.

In this new Vlog episode, join my brother Matty and me, as well as some of our friends for some of our Peʻahi missions surfing, paddling, windsurfing and wingfoil towing!”
